Empowering Through Craft: Our Partnership with SLB Negeri 1 Tabanan School for Deaf Children
When we first connected with SLB Negeri 1 Tabanan, a special needs school in Bali, Indonesia, we found an inspiring opportunity to make a meaningful difference.
SLB Negeri 1 Tabanan School offers educational training to children with various disabilities, including deafness, blindness, and cognitive challenges. They also focus on teaching essential life skills, from growing vegetables and playing music to developing computer skills and practising sewing.
For many deaf students at SLB Negeri 1 Tabanan School, the path to growth and success can be challenging. Access to formal sign language education is often limited, leaving students to rely on a mix of symbolic and oral communication. Despite these hurdles, they show remarkable resilience, potential, and a strong desire to overcome obstacles.
Through our partnership with SLB Negeri 1 Tabanan School, we aim to provide these talented students with opportunities to gain practical skills, earn an income, and support their families. The students have handcrafted our accessories, including linen and bamboo scrunchies, using leftover fabrics from our production. The income they earn helps cover essentials such as school fees, uniforms, and meals, making a real impact on their lives. We believe they can achieve great things in school and beyond with proper support.
We’re thrilled to partner with SLB Negeri 1 Tabanan School to help shape a brighter future for children in need in Bali. This collaboration not only reflects our commitment to ethical fashion but also allows us to contribute to a cause much greater than ourselves.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. We’re grateful for your ongoing support.
