Louisa has always been captivated by the idea of exploring the world. Since her early twenties, she has been constantly on the move, chasing the sun, and finding freedom in every moment.
For ten years, Louisa's home was a six-meter-long white van that carried her along the sunlit paths of Australia's East Coast. From the vibrant markets of Melbourne to the tropical allure of Cairns and countless stops in between, she and her husband lived the true nomad's dream. Each winter was spent chasing the sun north to Queensland, setting up their stall at local markets. There, they sold bohemian clothing, homewares, jewelry, and macrame while enjoying the sun-drenched landscape they loved.
This life on the road wasn't just about discovering new places; it was a deep dive into diverse cultures and connecting with people. Louisa thrived under the vast, open skies, her spirit as free as the road was long. The experiences gathered profoundly shaped her understanding of what it means to live comfortably yet stylishly under the sun. These insights would later become the cornerstone of Nomad the Label, a brand inspired by the freedom of the nomadic lifestyle and the practical beauty of living and dressing sustainably.
As time went on, Louisa found herself falling out of love with the bohemian styles she was selling. Her vision for a different kind of clothing line began to take shape.
The turning point came when all markets closed as the world went into lockdown. Louisa came up with the idea of designing comfortable and stylish clothing for women who have lived, loved, and continue to seek out the extraordinary.
That’s how Nomad the Label was born.
At the heart of Nomad the Label lies a commitment to an exceptional fit, comfort, and practicality. We engineer our garments to be timeless, classic, and endlessly wearable.
This design philosophy stems from our deep understanding of what the Nomad woman needs: She’s wise, adventurous, and discerning. Louisa’s expertise in comfort is unparalleled, a skill honed by years of personal experience and feedback from countless market stalls. She can immediately tell if something is going to be uncomfortable. “I am highly irritated by uncomfortable clothing. If it doesn’t feel right, I won’t wear it, and I don’t expect other women to either,” Lousia explains. This is evident in our signature pieces, like effortlessly wide-leg pants with elastic waists that don’t pinch and t-shirts with thoughtful hemlines that move as you do.

Our collections draw inspiration from Louisa’s travels across the globe, particularly her love for the Mediterranean’s light fabrics and relaxed cuts. The airy feel of a linen dress in the Greek Isles, the structured elegance of an Italian blazer, and the casual chic of French countryside attire deeply influence our designs.
